The VCSCOA board would like to congratulate Jennifer Scher on being hired by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s
Office. Jen has been a valued co-worker and will be missed by all. We wish her well at her new job.

Kelly Ryan stopped by the office tonight to pick up her retirement plaque and check. An emotional Kelly thanked everyone
and was looking forward to a new chapter in her life with her new job at Major Crimes.

After many many hours of deliberation and hearing opinions from our members and others, it was determined by a vote of the board that we hold off on any legal action reference our retirement at this point in time. We have decided to try to pursue some other increased benefits that might be an incremental step toward a better retirement. This was not an easy decision for the board and we want the members to know that we feel we are working in their best interest.

The entire VCSCOA board would like to thank all the members that came out to our general member board meeting this month. We had a record breaking showing of members from both jail facilities as well as members from outside the custody division.
